My search for Liposuction

I have always found liposuction interesting. In 1987 I was living in Dayton, Ohio and found a plastic surgeon who offered liposuction. I have always had heavy hips and thighs with small waist line. This made finding pants to fit without the gap in the back was impossible.

I made an appointment to see the Plastic Surgeon and we decided what areas we would work on. I went home to do more research after talking to him and I decided the procedure was not perfected at that time so I would wait to get the procedure done.

I took classes in 1995 to become an Esthetician and continued my medical research on liposuction. I was more interested in the medical end of aesthetics than the spa end and in 1999 became Aesthetic Director of medical office. I conceived and implemented all areas of adding aesthetics to an existing medical practice. I did all the research on different treatments to add to the practice and built the aesthetic practice. I continued to research liposuction and wasn't happy with the treatments till recently.

I had gotten laser treatments over the years for my Rosacea and was very happy with the treatments and the expertise Dr Orafu has with the laser.

I made an appointment for a lipo consultation with Dr Orafu. It was an extensive consultation going over the procedure, how I feel about the procedure and my expectations, what results can be expected and what can not. When we were both satisfied I understood what I was getting into we went onto the consent forms.

Dr Orafu and her staff went over everything and answered all my questions and concerns. The consent forms consisted of Liposuction Surgery Operative Consent Form, Medication Precautions for Liposuction, Liposuction Pre-Operative Instructions, Day of Surgery: Items to Bring and Liposuction Post-Operative Instructions. Dr Orafu took my measurements and pictures of the areas to be treated. We made the appointment for the next weekend which was October 27, 2007.
